Empiridum is owned and managed by Simon Potter.

 

Simon has over 35 years’ experience working in the wholesale financial markets. With a career starting in corporate treasury, Simon went on to found and sell a prominent financial technology company following which he was head of UK securitisation for a large investment bank in London. Throughout this time, he acquired extensive transaction management and technical advisory skills.

Now working independently, Simon advises on a range of topics from internal strategy to transaction execution and post-closing surveillance. Over the years Simon has worked with a wide range of mainstream and esoteric asset classes, predominantly mortgage related. Typically, new assignments focus on matters relating to balance sheet and capital optimisation.  Recent projects range from product design to asset selection and pricing, often incorporating aspects of funding, hedging and regulatory compliance.

 

Most recently Simon has researched the deployment of Blockchain technology in securitisation.
